We are delighted to launch our fantastic ChildsPlay competition for schools in the UK!
We are inviting pupils to use their imagination to draw a picture for our designers to interpret into a real life play mat. The subject could be anything, from your school building to an outer space adventure! For inspiration see our latest playground installation which was inspired by one child’s painting.
If you are looking to develop or upgrade your playground this is an excellent opportunity to produce a bespoke play space; or alternatively a unique branded entry area or portable play carpet suitable for indoor and outdoor activities.
The winning school will receive a 2m x 2m artificial turf mat, cut out in to the design of the chosen child’s drawing ready to be installed in the format or location that you choose.
To enter download the entry form and either post your submissions to: Notts Sport Ltd, Innovation House, Magna Park, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, LE17 4XH or email to email@example.com. The closing date for submissions is March 31st.
We’d also love to see your designs on social media, so tweet a photo of your entries using @NS_ChildsPlay and #CPMyPlayground, and we will share the best designs!
The Lincoln Avenue Knightswood community-funded playground in Glasgow is an inspirational project that demonstrates how imagination can shape the future of play.
This creative space in the built-up residential location of inner-city Glasgow is a project that started life as a colourful painting by a young competition winner at a local primary school.
Notts Sport‘s CAD department worked to develop a design based on an artist’s impression of the original painting, creating a fun depiction of the world with oversized houses, clouds and trees.
The design was then intricately cut out of synthetic ChildsPlay surfacing and installed in the centre of the play area, surrounded by ‘zones’ of bright coloured carpet to encourage imaginative play. The eye catching space is unusual because it doesn’t use traditional play equipment to fill the space. Instead, children are allowed to make up their own games and develop play freely in a sensory environment.
With the launch of IntriCut, Notts Sport’s innovative in-house cutting service, creatively cut play spaces like this are being installed up and down the country. IntriCut’s specialist CAD technology enables the Notts Sport ChildsPlay team to work with clients to realise their creative visions, creating dynamic patterns, elaborate shapes and illustrations that prevent the need for other equipment or expensive structures.
